Sydney Folk Festival Celebrates John Dengate Ten Years On!

Is it really ten years since we lost John Dengate? A man who had a way with words and an ear for a good tune John’s legacy lives on to inspire new generations of singers to write and perform in a traditional folk style. John’s songs emphasised the impact of a well chosen word, rhyme or rhythm and many still ask, “What would John Dengate be writing now”?

Join us to remember and celebrate the works of John Dengate in a concert which will focus on his legacy.  Dale Dengate is assembling a brilliant cast of singers including members of the Dengate family, Mandy presenting her Irish marching majorette routine from Cork, Lachlan and the Two Paddys (Affley & Manning), Kerith Power, Seamus Gill, Chloe & Jason Roweth and more. And of course, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to join in the choruses.
